Elo is not airtime
Directories that don’t sell rank
Quick answer
DemoTV sells labelled airtime only. Channels 1–3 come from viewer picks in Channel Battles, not from spend. Airtime, Studio, Featured partners and Launch Week put your demo in front of more people, always with a paid label, and they never change Elo. Submit a short demo for free; losing a battle never takes you off the board.
Does DemoTV sell rank?
No. Rank is audience Elo from Channel Battles. We sell labelled airtime, Studio, Featured partners and Launch Week. Those are placements. They never buy Channels 1–3.
What does labelled airtime buy?
A clearly marked promoted placement so more people see your demo. A paid view is never itself a vote. Score is computed only from battle outcomes.
Who decides Channels 1–3?
Viewers. Two demos play; each person picks the one they would try. Elo starts at 1000. The current top three scores are Channels 1–3.
Could more views from airtime still move my channel?
More people may see the tape and some may later vote in a battle. The vote is still theirs. Spend never writes a score or a channel.
How do I get listed without paying?
Submit a 30–90 second YouTube or MP4 clip for free. After station review it can go live. Optional paid placements are separate and labelled.
Is “Directories sell rank. We sell airtime.” still true?
Yes. Directory rank on DemoTV is Elo from viewer picks. Airtime is labelled exposure. That split is the product, not a slogan you can buy around.
